We can help you to organize a full day trip to Kisite-Mpunguti National Park (in short Kisite Park) at 55 Km from Aestus Villas Resort by booking one of Babu’s Capitan boat. Babu is part of the Shimoni local fishermen community and besides his fishing activity he invested in a new dhow suitable to tourist activities.
By taking this tour you help also the local community.
The day starts from the Resort at 7am with the pick up by car and/or mini bus and generally ends around 5pm.
Once you arrive at Shimoni port (last big fisherman Kenyan port before Tanzania border) you join the Captain’s boat (dhow) and sail to the park. During the sailing you will mostly probably meet with dolphins (but please note that dolphins are, as all wild animals, unpredictable and sometimes don’t show up!).
Once at the park you will enjoy a personalized and professional snorkeling experience graced by the presence of dolphins, sea turtles, octopus, lobster, grouper fish, trumpet fish, Muraena fish, stingrays, star fish and many more. Please don’t forget that the Kisite Marine Park isn’t a Zoo – so the guides can’t guarantee all the fishes, but they can guarantee a most personal experience. After the snorkel you reach Wasini Island, a very old fishing village without paved roads, electricity or running water, where you get lunch. After lunch and a short walk you sail back to Shimoni port and reach the transportation to go back to the resort.
